Problem Solving
Problem Solving software is
associate with cognitivist learning theory as students are taught using
cognitive strategy which involves lots of thinking process.
Problem solving is much more
complicated learning compare to drill and practice, these type of problem
cannot be solved by simply memorization it is mainly to promote students
thinking skills.
These types of programme will
enhance student from thinking to simulation where students try to solve the
problem related to real life situation.
Integration With Lesson
- Teacher need to identify skills that a particular problem solving program addresses by examining its activities before the students use the program.
- Teacher must allow students sufficient time to explore and interact with the software.
- Teacher must first demonstrate the planning steps, the ask students to provide their other possible methods to solve the problem.
Multimedia
Encyclopaedia And Electronic books
It is a software where we can store
huge database with full text, still images, animation, audio and video so that
the students can use the software to access any desired information and even
download relevant data. Electronic book presents textual information for
reading, but are supplemented with other types of multimedia information.
How
to use in the classroom:
- Teachers might demonstrate the variety of ways to search information.
- Teachers should provide very clear questions that the students can answer with the software.
- Teachers can assign topics for groups of students to do research by searching information stored in the software.
Its good that you have explained the benefits of problem solving and multimedia encyclopedia, but it would have been better if you could analyze and mention its disadvantages...
